obfuscating C++ is completely useless unless you're ready to make your program run slower than hell (i.e turning off optimizations then initializing thousands of variables and etc and etc )

what you're looking for is indeed packing, the two biggest options are themida and vmprotect. I happen to have cracked versions of both so dm me if you're not planning on wasting hundreds on it.

I'm not sure if it's necessary since you already have some sort of protection when co piling it to an executable

there's no default protection when you compile to an executable lol

it's just machine code ( x86 or x64 asm )
