I am not sure whether I should use scintilla or avalon. If you ever used both of them please tell me which one to use.

probably Scintilla, if you think about it.. avalon is just a better looking fctb with custom syntax highlighting and a pretty bad way of adding code auto complete

Avalon, i think that is better than scintilla in design terms.

Avalon for sure, it's superior in terms of customizability and overall robustness. However it doesn't have smooth loading.

it depends on your UI, really as far as I can tell, but if I were to say on top of my head, I would rather go with Avalon.
