Is Cheat Engine actually safe?
Posted
My anti-virus does an extremely good job of doing what it does and detecting what is and what is not malicious, I have never had to add any exploit to my exclusions because my anti-virus knows it's not malicious based on multiple things. I love my anti-virus, it really is most likely the best one out there.
However, despite it knowing what is and what is not malicious, when I downloaded Cheat Engine on my "test" computer (a PC I use for testing software for viruses) my anti-virus flagged it. So, I went to Cheat Engine's executable and used my anti-viruses "Check Reputation" feature, and it came out clean, but said that it was a legitimate software that could be exploited by hackers.
I decided not to download it on my PC because of this, but I want to know if Cheat Engine is really safe.
Now yes, I am aware that exploits or cheating software isn't always neccesarily... well, exploit-free, in terms of ROBLOX there are things like malicious scripts that exploit features in the exploit itself. The same is and can be said with other game exploits or cheats aswell. However, is it likely for Cheat Engine to be exploited?

Yeah it's safe. I have been using it before to get Assault Cube ammo addresses and it worked really well.
