In a lot of cases, laptops are unnecessary and are just a waste of money. This is mainly because of the price, features, size, and OEM factors. Laptops are inherently bad for gaming, in the gaming market the only competent laptops you may find are aimed at enthusiasts or the high end, even in those cases, they're nothing more than "oh cool". Laptops struggle with upgradability, cooling, prices (They're manufactured OEM, manufacturers in a lot of cases can't source many of the components from third-parties, and when they do, the prices are simply ramped up). For under a thousand, most of a gaming laptop that you can get is a struggling mid-range laptop that's focused solely on performance, usually undermining features and usability. So yes, a desktop gets more for your money, in features, performance and longevity (and will probably save you a lot of cash down the road).

That being said, if you do have a legitimate reason for having one (Portability factor, needing to carry one around daily, or serious space confinements), there are surely some options, but your thread doesn't detail any actual requirements. I can assure you that "Good CPU/GPU/RAM/features" means literally nothing. Your requirement of "Can run Roblox at max graphics without lagging" can't really be fulfilled easily, as Roblox on itself isn't a game, it's a game platform. On some computers, you can run basic games like say a baseplate or brickbattle on 10 at 60 FPS no problem, while jumping into a more complex and feature-rich game such as Phantom Forces or some kind of showcase tanks the FPS to 20-30 on 10 graphics setting. Roblox games scale in graphical intensity, if you want to have an always-persisting 60 FPS experience, you'd have to aim at the upper mid-range market, which is like an RX 5600XT paired with a decent mid-range CPU (focusing on per-core-performance) like the R3 3100 or R5 3600. Of course, those aren't exactly available on laptops. Under 700 isn't exactly something that would even come close to guaranteeing you such performance. Most you'd look at are older mid-range laptops, featuring GTX 1050s or 1060s paired with decent entry-level processors such as the i5-10300H which would be useful in single-core demanding games such as Roblox. In that sense, I would recommend you something like the Acer Nitro 5 or the ASUS TUF Gaming F15, those make pretty good use of the ~700 USD that they cost.

If a laptop at this range is too expensive for your liking, you could tone yourself down to non-gaming-oriented laptops. Those with integrated graphics can also do the job "well" for Roblox. Look for those featuring Intel's integrated graphics such as the UHD 630 or the new Xe DGI. AMD also has their 4th generation mobile Ryzen APUs, which may be beneficial to check out.

I had a good laugh about this thread, mainly the replies, as two people recommended the worthless bait that is Microsoft's Surface and Apple's Macbook. To have the audacity to even recommend such worthless waste of silicon is just out of this world. I can't imagine buying a locked-down, underperforming and overpriced product and then being satisfied enough to recommend it to someone who's on a budget.

@Moon If you do decide to get a laptop that runs Windows 10, grab something like Aero 10 asap, as it will be mostly debloated from boot. (It also looks nice.) You would need to get an ltsc key, but there are ways to do that if you look hard enough. Aero 10 reskins some things to look like windows 7 like the start menu, and it makes other things look good like a glossy transparent taskbar, along with being debloated. Another option would be to use the base ltsc windows 10. This looks like normal windows 10 but, like with Aero 10, is debloated for long-term use cases like medical devices.

Aero 10: https://archive.org/details/Aero10ENX64
Windows 10 ltsc: https://pastebin.com/ELUQdsvx - Do not grab windows 10 versions, Enterprise LTSB/LTSC is all you want, scroll all the way down.

@Moon Windows is installed with things like edge, Cortana, bing, one drive, etc. Ltsc removes all this and some background things like how much data is sent to Microsoft. Aero 10 builds on ltsc to reskin windows along with this, giving it a glossy aero look.

Basically, LTSC is windows 10 but mostly debloated, Aero 10 builds on this to reskin it to look good.

Is there any way to disable the reskin? In my opinion, it doesn't look to good.

@Moon I wouldn't consider that any good of a laptop... It hurts just looking at the no-heatsink cooling assembly. I can assure you that the APU will not be at its full potential.

@Moon If you don't want the reskin, grab LTSC instead, Aero 10 is built on ltsc and only adds the reskin.

@Texas

Is there any way of speeding it up (Without downloading linux)? Also I don't think cooling should be that big of a problem for me.

@Moon Allen had mentioned lighter versions of Windows, but they still don't offer you as much extra performance as GNU/Linux distributions, though they're still worth a try. Cooling is something you'd be very interested in, it's what you know, determines the actual sustained performance of your device. With a cooling assembly like that, I can assure you that the Ryzen APUs in there will not be reaching their full potential, more of just cooking, and that's in the best scenario. Read about thermal throttling, it will give you a fairly good idea of what I'm currently talking about.

modifying a ui and calling it yours does mean it's your ui.
