should i get the new 15" macbook air or a framework 16 when it comes out eventually?

i have a school discount with the macbook for $100 off so it's like $1399 for 512 gb vesion with m2. also i got accepted into this pissy prissy private school and like 80% of the people there have macs

framework is cool because you can easily switch out the parts and $1049 for prebuilt and obviously framework 16 is gonna be more expensive but idk

mac cool bc can do ios and macos stuff but idk lemme know what i should get

Framework cuz daddy linus!!! I'm jk but the framework laptop might be a more viable solution, since it is upgradeable.

Honestly, I'd really go for a Framework laptop for a lot of the same reasons Nickk (coffee guy) said. When considering your next laptop, think about it in the perspective of "how well will this serve me in 5 years?". Think about it as a long term investment, because chances are you're going to be using this laptop in the long term. A Framework laptop gives you the ability to not only upgrade parts (instead of buying a whole other computer as you would have to do with MacBook) but also use different Operating Systems, play games (at higher performance you would than a Mac) and much more. Framework will give you a lot more flexibility and freedom as compared to Mac keeping you a lot more restricted in what you can do with it, at least in terms of upgrading and software.

You'll get a much better value for your buck on the Framework laptop, and I wouldn't be worried about all the MacBook users at your new "pissy prissy" school. At least you'll be original and know you'll have more FPS than them in pretty much any game. :)

I just saw the Framework 16, and it is definitely the best laptop I've seen so far. Buy it.
