Ubuntu (or any linux distro) - Great for programming, lightweight, runs on pretty much everything, lots of support.
Windows - Great for gaming, Windows oriented programming (your typical C# desktop apps and sh**), Wider variety of software support.

manjaro or if you're a big geek then gentoo. for gaming probably pop_os or ubuntu.

Dual boot windows and manjaro or arch.

If you want to develop and have an optimised experiance ubuntu isnt really the option to go for.

 

If you have time use arch but you will have to install a desktop enviroment from scratch,

This may be hard if you are not used to a command line os but you can easily find a youtube video to guide you on how to use it!
