What do we use Api and DLL For? What is the Difference between them?

Yeah so Before I say anything I know that this is A VERY STUPID QUESTION THAT I AM ABOUT TO ASK and let me mention that I am new to exploiting and dont know much about exploiting and how it works, so thanks for understanding.
Yeah, um I have seen quite few people recommending others that, "Dont use WRD'S APi" or "Can somebody help me make DLL" and I am really confused that What is an Api? What is a DLL? What's the difference between them? Isn't an Api and a DLL the Same thing? How would we know that which DLL or API is BETTER? Sorry for asking a stupid question though it's just that I dont know anything about exploiting.

An API is used to communicate with another application/program (or something the exact definition doesnt really matter) and a DLL is a dynamic link library/dependency.
But in roblox exploiting terms, they mean slightly different things:
DLL = The exploit that gets injected into roblox
API = 1) A premade exploit DLL so skids don't need to make one and just need to make a GUI 2) A thing for UIs to communicate with the injected DLL
An API is used to send the scripts to the injected DLL so it will execute the script. WRD API is a premade exploit dll and API that's...kinda bad. And there are some lazy developers asking people to make them a DLL so they don't have to use an API (using APIs isnt really respected in the community)
