Easy little helpful thread about how to setup discord.js on Windows 7 - Windows 10.

Step 1 - Download node.js and go through the setup.

I am gonna let you do the setup on your own, but be sure to download the newest version to ensure that it works. The download link will be at the end of this thread.

Step 2 - After downloaded, make a new folder on your Desktop.

I suggest you name the folder something short, like Discord because that's where your bot's code and modules will be.

Step 3 - Load up Command Prompt.

To find command prompt, click the Windows button in the botton left and search in the search bar - "cmd".

Final Step - Install discord.js to the folder.

When in Command Prompt, you have to type all these commands.

First, type "cd Desktop" and press enter

After that, type "cd (folder name)" -- [whatever you named your folder] and press enter.

Then, type "npm" and press enter.

After that, type "npm init" and press enter.

Then, you have to click enter until the stuff stops and you can type again.

Finally, type "npm install discord.js --save". Be sure to type it exactly the way I did.

After it is done loading, exit command prompt.

Check your folder.

Check you folder for all the files. There should be 1 folder named "node_modules", and 2 .json files, one name "package.json", and the other named "package-lock.json".

Download Visual Studio Code and start Coding your bot.

The link for this is also gonna be at the end, but your gonna have to find a YT video or something to actually learn to code the bot, cus I don't have time for that. Just click Open Folder and Open the folder you named on your Desktop to get started. (be sure to exit the welcome tab.)

Stay Safe!

@KingRetracted I don't think I would do a good job telling you how to actually make the bot, and it make take to much time. Try searching for a tutorial on YouTube
